Gary Wayne Ballew

Gary was born in Aurora, Colorado to Robert and Billie Ballew. He was the third of four children. They moved frequently due to his father being in the military but eventually settled in his grandparent's hometown of Troup, Texas for a majority of Gary's childhood. After moving to Richardson, Texas, his father passed away and his mother Billie raised Gary and his 3 siblings as a single parent. He attended Richardson High School and graduated in 1972. He met Martha Bruton not long after, in April of 1975. After dating for six years, Martha and Gary were married in June of 1981. Their son, Austin, was born in 1987 and their daughter, Parker, in 1991. Gary was a loving and devoted Father who would do everything he could to support his children's interests and expected very little in return. Austin and Parker were the highlight of this life. Gary enjoyed working with his hands and held various jobs including every position in the construction industry from contract work to inspection and appraisal. He loved working on cars and remodeling the house. Gary especially loved animals, including his new found best friend, a cat named Sunny. He and Martha enjoyed Allen High School football games on Friday nights, going to rock and roll concerts and spending their weekends camping with friends and family. Friends, neighbors and family enjoyed coming to his house for the BEST darn ribs in Collin County. Gary passed from this life into eternity on February 22, 2015. A memorial service honoring Gary's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Gathering Room at Allen Family Funeral Options with Pastor Robert Matthews officiating.
