Rick Agee

John Richard (Rick) Agee lost his lengthy battle with cancer at 12:40 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2015. When he passed away he was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Rick was born on March 7, 1959 in Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas. After starting the first grade in Downey, California, he and his family moved to Richardson, Texas, where he attended Richardson schools through Terrace Elementary, Richardson Junior High and Berkner High School. Rick participated in all athletic programs through Junior High School and played baseball and basketball at Berkner High where he was on the All-District team in Basketball. Rick earned a BS degree at Texas Tech. After teaching for a few years, Rick moved back to Richardson where he went to work for YC Nursery in Dallas. Rick Agee, The Ultimate Friend, accumulated friends throughout his lifetime. His friends shared in his interests such as outdoor activities and athletics. Always there to lend a helping hand, Rick was loved by all; and every friend that he ever had has remained with him throughout his entire life. Rick is survived by his loving wife Lynn Erickson Agee, one son John Taylor Agee, parents John E. and Cynthia Agee, sister Alese Agee, brother Kerry Ben Agee and wife Janie, as well as nephew Benjamin T. and niece Amanda Lee Agee. Also surviving are many cousins and other family members as well as many, many lifetime friends. He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents John T. and Christine Agee and maternal grandparents Ben and Pearl Cason. Rick will forever be remembered as a friend by all; young and old. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Allen Family Funeral Options. A service of remembrance honoring Rick's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Rd., Plano, Texas 75023.
