Thomas Wayne Cogburn

Thomas Wayne Cogburn, age 70, met his Lord and Savior on January 26, 2015.
He was born in Gorman, Texas on March 28, 1944 to Charles Thurman and Mary Katherine Cogburn. He graduated from Comanche High School. He retired from Sears as a Sales Manager in 2010.
Tom "Tommy Wayne" Cogburn was natural born salesman. From shoes to siding, he could sell it all. He never knew a stranger. He loved sharing his testimony and his story of sobriety. Tom wanted to help anyone struggling through his own experience. Out of all of his accomplishments, being a dad was the most important. Due to his own father's absence, Tom thrived to be the best dad and role model for his children. He believed in them and was their biggest fan. Tom celebrated all of their accomplishments and took every opportunity to support their dreams.
He was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children and granddaughter, bike riding, and socializing with close friends at the Preston Group. He will be remembered for his love for God, sense of humor, keen selling ability, contagious smile and generous nature.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Iesha Cogburn; his son and future daughter-in-law, Jordan Cogburn and Sarah Vailes; his daughter and son-in-law, Courtney Cogburn and George Pipia; his granddaughter, Ella Rose Cogburn; and his brother and sister-in-law, Phil Howard and Marty Cogburn; and his nephew, Christopher Cogburn.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Allen Family Funeral Options. A funeral service to honor Tom's life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Faith Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 West Park Boulevard, Plano, Texas 75093. A private burial will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Deleon Cemetery in Deleon, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in Tom's name to Prestonwood Baptist Church.
