Jerrold W Crafton Ii

April 15, 1964 — December 24, 2014

Jerry can be described as strong-willed, determined, full of life, charismatic, impatient, and full of love. He truly worked for everything and put forth effort to better his and his family's lives. Jerry didn't let people walk all over him, he had a saying, "Don't be one of the sheep, be the herder". One of the last conversations with Jerry and his daughter was at the movie theatre and it was a movie preview for Will Smith's new movie, anyways, at the end of the preview, Will Smith says, "There's two kinds of people, the hammer and the nail." Jerry looked over at his daughter and says, "I'm a hammer," with such confidence and gave her a smirk, acting as if she knew that already. Jerry could come off strong at times, but that's just how he is. Jerry was a people person; he could talk his way through any situation whether it was to persuade or to get out of trouble. His personality allowed him to do the things he wanted to do. Jerry allowed himself to do whatever he wanted to do unless his wife said otherwise. Neta was his world, his everything. They met in California when he was 27 and she just 23 years young. Jerry and Neta dated for 3 weeks, rode his motorcycle to Vegas, and got hitched. They were married for 23 years. They were each other's true soul mates. They both had 3 beautiful children, Jerrold, Elizabeth and Joseph. It was us 5 against the world. Who could have ever thought that the eager, hard-headed man Jerry was, would stay married for 23 years with Neta, who at the time was not quite as outspoken and was timid and settle down in the middle of Texas with a Samoan wife. Jerry was always about rock n' roll and his motorcycle. He lived to ride. Before Jerry met Neta, he couldn't stay in one place. He was a nomad and never settled anywhere. Neta grounded him. Neta gave him meaning. Words cannot describe the love they had. When she passed earlier this year in July, his world collapsed. Jerry's children watched him fall into nothing. He was alive but not living. He lost all motivation and missed his Neta to no end. Jerry talked about her like she was a goddess. He truly needed her and now he is reunited with her. This was the longest that they stayed away from each other. They couldn't even go more than 5 months away from one another. Neta celebrated her first Christmas with Jerry, and it was a special holiday for them. It is very ironic that Jerry left to go to her on Christmas Eve. It's destiny. Jerry is with her now celebrating and having a ball in heaven with her. They must be truly happy together. Jerry is survived by his children Jerrold Crafton III, Elizabeth Crafton and Joseph Crafton and is preceded in death by his sweetheart Neta Crafton. An Afternoon of Remembrance to honor Jerry's life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from noon until 2:00 PM at Allen Family Funeral Options.
