David Ashton Butler, 31, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Carrollton, Texas.
He was born April 26, 1983 in Garland and resided in both Lubbock and Carrollton during his 31 years making many journeys, memories, and friends along the way.
David graduated from The Colony High School in 2001, attended Brookhaven then worked in the family business, Butler's Gourmet Foods.
He was an avid outdoorsman, athlete, and sports fan. As an angler he could out fish everyone from the Coast of Mexico to the rivers and streams of Red River or Beavers Bend. As an athlete he excelled in baseball, basketball, golf and even enjoyed paintball. Fitness was a key part of his life and his commitment to working out was unrivaled. David was a life-long and loyal fan of his Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Mavericks. Any given Saturday he could be found wearing his burnt orange and pulling for his Longhorns with his pops.
David loved God first and his family unconditionally. He was blessed with a heart of gold and feared nothing. He was the families' baby boy.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Sherry Butler of Carrollton; brother Dustin Brown of Lubbock; sister Rachel Butler Donner and brother-in-law Ryan Donner of Plano; grandparents C.A. and Rosemary Butler of Garland; grandparents George and Mozelle Strain of Longview; nieces Bailey and Brooke Brown of Lubbock.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at Allen Family Funeral Options from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in the chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Boulevard at 2:00 PM. David will be laid to rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Plain Dealing Cemetery, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana.
David's missing presence has left a tremendous void in our hearts and our lives; he will be sorely missed.
