David Alan Russell was born to Susanne Blackmon and Matthew Lewis Russell on Sunday,December 2, 1984 at 1:08 AM weighing in at just under 9.5 pounds at Medical City of Dallas at the corner of Forest Lane and Park Central.
David never actually crawled on all fours, he would roll - must faster that way.
He was the first in the family, I am aware of, with a Mohawk, as he rubbed the hair
off both sides, rooting on the crib, couch, floor David has always been on the move.
David has always loved animals, cats, dinosaurs, dogs, birds and people and they always knew it. David went to Carrollton, Texas Public Schools from Kindergarten thru 6th grade, before moving to Plano, Texas. He was in ROTC while at the Plano Senior High School and proudly walked the parades in downtown Dallas and Plano. He was also a "Student Ambassador" for Australia from the United States and spent 21 days of traveling around in the "WALK ABOUT", diving at the Great Barrier Reef, taking pictures of enormous swimming creatures around him. David graduated from Plano Senior High in 2003.
David married Emily Brook Carpenter on August 4, 2007 and they became parents to Shelby Selene on July 21, 2010; now 4 years of age.
David was always looking for ways to be able to help out friends, family and strangers.
He would help with everything from cleaning property, working on vehicles, cutting/chopping trees down, to bathing and changing Shelby's diapers.
He worked at "Inspections Only" and was manager till physical problems prevented it.
He had always been interested in Computer Graphics and it was a passion for him. He made a 3-D dinosaur museum games for Shelby who really enjoyed testing them out for himas she also wants to help as well. While working in security, he continued to work with the Computer Graphics and wanting to get into the field with his accomplishments. He joined the "Makerspace" where he could create designs of various objects that would be generated out of plastic. He was really excited about it and wanted to purchase a 3D printer to do this on his own and was in progress of starting a business with a couple of really good buddies, Robert and Scott.
All of the loving, caring, assisting, creating he put out there, was not able to handle a suppressed memory from childhood while at a daycare that began hitting him in February 2014. Friends and family, notified in September, wanted to help but he did not want to burden most with these terrible flashbacks. A friend noticed and informed him he had a PTSD issue. Unable to locate affordable counseling assistance, he left the suicide note and was not located in time to prevent him from jumping off Central Expressway bridge at Plano Parkway Road, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 12, 2014.
David is now in heaven watching over all of his friends and family, to keep us safe from harm's way. I figure he is working with 3-D graphic printers and building additional items for Heaven's residents.
David's life will be honored at a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Willow Creek Fellowship, 1804 P Avenue, Plano, Texas 75074.
