Dan Mobley

September 29, 1930 — October 24, 2014

Charles Daniel (Dan) Mobley was born on September 29, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Cullen Albert Mobley and Alma Mae Bookout Mobley. Dan enjoyed riding his Paso Fino horses and announcing at horse shows throughout Texas and Louisiana. He began each morning by completing the daily New York Times crossword puzzle. He was an avid reader and sports fan. He particularly loved baseball and his St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers. In his later years, Dan discovered YouTube, listening for hours at a time to different genres of music from across the decades. Mostly, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family. He relished the times when he was surrounded by his whole family, during holiday gatherings or on weekends when everyone just happened to stop by to watch a game with him. Dan passed from this life and entered into his eternal home on October 24, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Mobley, his children Lynn Campbell and her husband Steve, Chris Mobley and his wife Becky, Mark Mobley and his wife Donna and Scott Mobley, grandchildren Austin Mobley and his wife Jatziri, Daulton Mobley, Elijah Mobley, Meagan Naramore and her husband Michael, Ben Mobley and his wife Megan, Zack Mobley, Cody Mobley and Aidan Mobley, great grandchildren Amelie and Naomi, siblings Roger Mobley, Kay Thurman and her husband Bill and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
