Melinda King

Melinda Jean Rife King was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 27th, 2014.
Melinda was born December 21st, 1968 in Phoenix, Arizona to William and Verna Rife. She was their fourth and final child. She was married December 27, 1991 to Steven King. They celebrated 22 wonderful years of marriage. They had two children, Rachael, born December 6th, 1994, and Preston, born September 29th, 1997.
Melinda was a graduate of Moon Valley High School, and Phoenix College. She began her career as a dental assistant in Phoenix and continued in the dental assisting field in the Dallas area when she and Steve moved to Frisco, TX in 1995. Melinda transitioned her career into supporting her children's education through her work in Prestonwood Baptist Church's Children Ministry and later in Frisco ISD's nutrition department. Melinda focused her time and effort on supporting her family and the programs they participated in through her involvement in both church and school activities such as Awana, PTA, booster clubs, and various committee positions. Her children were her pride and joy. Melinda was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and servant leader. She loved life and brought laughter to everyone she met by not taking herself too seriously (unless you were breaking the rules).
Melinda was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, husband, daughter, son, sister, Joy McGuire and husband Darrell; brother, Bill Rife and wife Becky; sister, Shirley Coleman and husband Martin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Allen Family Funeral Options. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Prestonwood Baptist Church - Dallas, 12123 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas.
