Margaret (Peggy) was born on June 8, 1920 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, an only child to Gladys P. and Walter Edward Perkins. In the early years she studied nursing and worked for Cookson Funeral Home in Framingham, Massachusetts.
As a young woman she took a liking to style and beauty. She began a career in interior design on Boylson Street in Boston in the 40's. With her three sons she moved to Dallas in 1955 and continued her design career, first with Custom Built Furniture in Snider Plaza and later with Bill Taylor, Gerald Hargett and George Cameron Nash among others. She retired in 2007 at the peak of her career working on exceptional projects primarily with architect David Hasse of Peoria, Ill.
Peggy's greatest treasures were her friendships. She was a friend to all she met and was a trusted counselor and listener to anyone who needed someone to talk to. To her final days she had a sweet and gentle disposition that attracted and endeared all to her. Peggy was always positive, alive and cheerful. She seemed to never have a down day. She praised Jesus daily and kept His word close to her heart at all times. Angels were always among her.
She touched those around her in every walk of life. In particular she loved doctors, nurses and anyone associated with the healthcare profession. All of her caregivers became her friends. They often got better therapy from her smile and stories than she got from them but it was always a mutually rewarding exchange. She never had a harsh word for anyone and always found the good in people.
She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. There are no words which can convey the depth of our sorrow for losing this joyous, sweet little companion. We can only do what she would have wanted us to do. Be kind, generous and loving to all we encounter and to always remember, share the wine! Peggy's surviving family members include her sons Jim Larsen, Kirk Larsen and his wife Suzanne and Victor Larsen, grandchildren Carly Hodges and her husband Albert, Jeanette Larsen Dorman and her husband Matt and Daniel Larsen and great grandchildren August and Cora Hodges. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Restoration Anglican Church, 4343 Sigma Rd., Farmers Branch, Texas 75244. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Peggy's name to CTRC Council (formerly Cancer Center Council), Patient Assistance Program, 7979 Wurzbach, Urschel Tower, 6th Floor, San Antonio, Texas 78229, telephone # (210)450-5571.
