Timothy B Rhatican

March 5, 1952 — August 4, 2014

Tim Rhatican was born to Patricia and Lawrence (Whitey) Rhatican on March 5th, 1952 in Sayreville, New Jersey. He was a gifted athlete, a great football player, a national punt pass and kick champion, and talented baseball and basketball player. Tim played for the Sayreville Leprechauns Pop Warner Football team and was honored as a POP Warner all American. He loved skiing trips all over New England with his family. He attended Our Lady of Victory Grammar School in Sayreville, St. Benedict Preparatory School in Newark, Boston College and completed his educational journey at Southern Methodist University earning the degree of Doctorate of Jurisprudence. He played football for the Boston College Eagles from 1970-1972. During his time in law school he met Cynthia Ferris and they were wed August 12, 1978. Cynthia and Tim have been married for the last thirty-six years and were blessed with two sons, Geoff and Patrick. Tim practiced many types of law during his life; entertainment, corporate, and family. He was an avid golfer and sports trivia fan. Tim enjoyed the many rounds of golf playing with friends or his wife and children. He always felt blessed by the many friendships that were forged during law school, through St Mark Catholic School, Andromeda Soccer Club and Jesuit College Preparatory School. He was always a coach at heart, and loved coaching his children and their friends in soccer, baseball, basketball, and hockey during their time growing up in Plano. His love of coaching was passed on to his two sons who are today collegiate football coaches. He passed away after a two year battle with a rare form of squamous cell carcinoma on August 4, 2014.
Tim is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Rhatican, sons Geoff Rhatican and Patirck Rhatican.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1105 W. 15th Street, Plano, Texas 75075.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tim's name to Jesuit.
