Charles Ross Stice was born February 22, 1939 in Gainesville, Texas and passed away July 22, 2014 in Plano, Texas. He is survived by his wife Helen, two daughters Penny Hale and Lana Hillebrand, their husbands Larry Hale and Ed Hillebrand and Charles and Helen's three grandchildren Evan Hale and wife Lacy, Lauren Simancas and husband Antonio and Lindsay Hillebrand. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Heritage Farmstead Museum, 1900 W. 15th St., Plano, Texas. This will be a come-and-go, casual attire is recommended and those who would like to speak can do so at 3:00 p.m.

Charles was a 1957 graduate of Whitesboro High School and married Helen Armon on July 26, 1957. Charles joined the Soil Conservation Service which moved the couple to Clarksville, Alice, and Wake Village Texas. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Charles and Helen moved to Plano in 1960 so Charles could embark on a new career as a manager of auto body shops at Bankston Oldsmobile, Steakly Chevrolet, Ken Pruitt Buick and Jack Marshall Lincoln Mercury. He opened his dream business, Plano Body and Service in 1975.

Plano Body and Service was dedicated to providing great service to customers in the auto body repair industry. The business had longstanding employees who remained with them until Charles and Helen retired in 1995.

In addition to being a very successful small business owner, Charles was a wonderful, loving and devoted husband to Helen and a fun-loving father to Penny and Lana. Charles was so proud of Penny and Lana as they were the first generation of college graduates from the University of Texas at Austin, leading to the color theme of orange and white for his real estate properties.

In retirement, Charles and Helen dedicated their lives to their three grandchildren, Evan, Lauren and Lindsay. School programs, athletics, vacations to Destin, cruises and St. Kitts filled their retirement days. Even in the last few years of failing health, the grandchildren would bring a twinkle to his eye.

Charles was a dedicated friend with a unique sense of humor and a way with words. During retirement, with his usual flair and personality, he enjoyed holding court and drinking coffee with friends in his office/private pool hall known as the "Dew Drop In."

Charles was proud of his Masonic 32nd degree and his affiliation with the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations sent to:
