Gene's family was the most important thing in the world to him. He constantly reminded his children that even though there was no DNA link between them, they were his children from the day they were born and God had brought them to him to love and raise. He was a very generous, thoughtful, kind and compassionateman and he always taught his family to help others when you had the opportunity. Gene was very involved with his church, had a spiritual perspective on life and had so much faith. He served the church by being a Eucharistic Minister and was always active in projects helping those in need. He could be stubborn and was very intelligent. His motto was that you have to work hard for anything in this world that you want and anything you want is worth fighting for.One of Gene's happiest of days was when his first granddaughter was born. Even though he had to climb three flights of stairs with his bad hip, he was always happy to come visit her. Gene is survived by his daughter Amber Norrgard and her husband Brian, son Jason Jerome and his wife Catherine, grandchildren Amethyst, Autumn and Benjamin Norrgard, Luke, Tyler, Cody and Sawyer Jerome, siblings Jim Jerome and his wife Barbara, Theresa Rafferty, Tom Jerome and his wife Dee and numerous other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Mary Jerome, siblings Richard, Bonnie, Eunice, Kenny, Virginia, Jerry, Burch, Bill Glenn, Bob and Marion.
