Mr. J.C. Coker, age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 15, 2014 at the Plano Specialty Hospital in Plano, Texas. Mr. Coker was born March 5, 1939 in Eureka, Texas to Lonnie and Eulema Coker. Mr. Coker married Mary Elizabeth Mitchell on December 20, 1969 in Dallas, Texas, where they lived at the time, and then moved to Plano, Texas where they lived and raised their family. J.C. and Mary Coker were married for 44 years. Mr. Coker graduated from Corsicana High School in 1957, proudly served in the United States Air Force and went on to attend the University of North Texas. In his professional career, Mr. Coker was involved in sales for both the insurance and home improvement industries in Dallas and the surrounding areas. In his retirement years, Mr. Coker enjoyed driving all over the state with his wife for fresh peaches, green onions and sweet potatoes; with the occasional stop for East Texas ribs. But above all else, he loved spoiling his grandchildren the most. Mr. Coker is survived by his wife Mary Mitchell Coker of Plano, son and daughter in law Erick and Tammi Coker of Robinson, Texas, grandson and wife Kirby and Kaylie Coker both stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, granddaughter Lindsey Neumann of Stephenville, Texas, grandson Nathan Neumann of Robinson, Texas daughter and son in law Elizabeth and Robert Haney of Allen, Texas, granddaughter Heather Haney of Allen, granddaughter Taylor Haney of Garland, Texas grandson Robert Haney of Allen, daughter Meredith Rumsey of Allen, granddaughter Madyson Rumsey of Allen, brother and sister in law Hugh Allen and Sharon Coker of Corsicana and sister Ms. Frankie Garza of Berry, Texas. Mr. Coker was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Ray Coker and grandniece Avery Washington. A graveside service was held at 9:00 AM Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Dallas Ft.
