Glenda Stevens

Mary Glendalyn Stevens was born on September 11, 1941 in Paris, Texas to parents Jeanne Snyder Holman and Harold "Ike" Holman. Glenda graduated from Tulia High School in Tulia, Texas in 1959 and on August 29th of that same year married her husband Dwight Stevens. She was employed by the Dallas Independent School District for 31 years as a Security Specialist.
Glenda was kind, generous and made life fun for everyone around her and enriched the lives of all those who knew her. Her passions in life were spending time with her family, collecting mini kerosene lamps, antiques and travelling with Dwight in their 5th wheel travel trailer. She passed away peacefully on April 5, 2014 in Plano, Texas.
Glenda is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Dwight Stevens of Murphy, Texas, son Ron Stevens, daughter-in-law Judy Stevens and granddaughter Paige Stevens all of Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Stacy Leigh and sister, Julie Ann Brice.
A memorial service to celebrate Glenda's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 in the chapel at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Rd., Plano, Texas 75023. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Glenda's name to In Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue, 3430 Skyview Dr., Wylie, Texas 75098, phone (972)442-6888.
The world has lost a wonderful woman and her presence will surely be missed by her family and many, many friends.
