Linda Kay Watkins

April 21, 1950 — February 9, 2014

Linda Kay Watkins was born on April 21, 1950 in Midland, Texas to parents William Gerald and Dona Eloise Keeler. She attended Texas A & M University at Commerce and was employed by the City of Plano for 26 years before retiring. Linda was kind to everyone she met, was helpful in any way she could be and touched many lives as a result. After retiring, Linda became a sorority house mom at Missouri State University for eight years. She was a second mom to many of the girls in the house and they fondly referred to her as "Momma L". She was full of life and immediately loved by everyone who met her. Linda always wanted to relax and lay on the beach even though her fair skin was prone to sunburn. She was also obsessed with Christmas and often went overboard on holiday decorations. However, Linda's greatest joy and her true love was in her children whom she raised by herself. Her son Ric is currently in the United States Air Force, is married to Jennifer and has a son named Cameron and a step-son named Tristan. Charlie, her second son is a United States Marine, currently employed by the Austin Police Department, serves in the National Guard and is married to Mary. Linda's only daughter, Jenny is a former dancer, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, employed as an insurance adjuster and is married to John Lack and they are expecting a child due in August. Linda is also survived by her brother Gerald Keeler and his wife Joan Wilbanks and her sister Donna Giametta and her husband Jimmy. Linda's life will be celebrated at a funeral service on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, Texas 75023 with Deacon Mike Seibold presiding. A reception will follow.
