Michael Chaisson

January 1, 1949 — January 29, 2014

Michael was born in Galveston, Texas, in 1949. Being an "army brat," his family moved to Wurzburg, Germany, where he and his siblings, Henry and Evelyn, graduated from high school. The family then settled in Shreveport, Louisiana, where Michael attended and graduated from LSU-Shreveport. While in Shreveport, he met Rita Campbell, who he married in November 1972. Together they had two children, Brian Matthew and Amy Jennifer. The family then moved to the Plano area where Michael spent 21 years working for TI before retiring. In 1982, Michael began to develop health issues. Through the years, both diabetes and the progressive SPS made life more challenging. But despite all of his struggles, Michael still found joy in life through his Wurzburg friends, grandchildren Ethan and Rylie, and grand-nieces Sarah, Hannah, and Charlotte. He was an adventurous man who loved driving through the Rocky Mountains in his jeep, and even with his disabilities, he once conquered the top of Diamond Head in Hawaii. Being as proud of a man as he was, he always enjoyed his independence. Please join us in celebrating Michael's eternal freedom and peace. A service to honor Michael's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Allen Family Funeral Options with Pastor Robert Matthews officiating.
