Rex Tetrick was born July 2, 1945 in Greensburg, Indiana. He grew up with his mom, Virginia, dad, Lowell and big brother, Steve, on a farm near Clarksburg, Indiana. After graduation from Purdue, he served in the US Army in Vietnam. He returned to Indiana and eventually relocated to Dallas to pursue his lifelong career in insurance. "Tex Rex" thrived in the singles world of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and later at Fellowship Bible Church Dallas enjoying social activities, classes and travel. His trip to Israel inspired him to pursue Bible Study Fellowship and the Road to Emmaus. He was always ready for a cold Pepsi, free buffet and a dancing lesson.
Many of Rex's friends have said that the highlight of his life was on November 14, 2009 when he married Toni and gained a new family. During Rex and Toni's four short years, they enjoyed dancing , traveling and being part of Christ Church Plano. Rex was known for his devoted friendships and his personal attention to his clients. Rex will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Wayne and Virginia Allman Tetrick. He is survived by his wife, Toni Salmon-Tetrick, his brother Steve and his wife Ruthie Tetrick, Toni's children Anne Badger and her husband Brent, Stephen Salmon and his wife Juanita, grandchildren James, John and Casen Badger and Gracie Salmon, nieces and nephews Tammy and Heath Dunagin and their children Mitch and Abby, Tanya and Chris Chalfant and their children Isabel and Michael, Timothy Tetrick and his children Timothy, Shalyn, Virginia and Keagan.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Christ Church Plano, 4550 Legacy Drive, Plano, Texas 75024.
