Joyce Jill Fry Womack passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at her home in Garland, Texas after a brief illness. Jill was 73 years old and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Jill was born in Dallas, Texas to Sam Tom and Gay Cain on August 9, 1940. She graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas and Baylor University where she was a "Baylor Beauty." Jill met John Fry at Baylor, was married, and had two children, Dru and Eric.
Jill's professional career gave her great joy. Her first job was teaching students at Timberlawn Hospital in Dallas. Later she became a head-hunter/recruiter for Lucas and Associates. She then had a successful career as a contract negotiator with EDS in Plano, Texas, until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed traveling with work and continued traveling after retirement.
Jill wed J.D. Womack on November 7, 1997, and they were married for 17 wonderful years. They enjoyed traveling, playing golf, trying new restaurants, and spent most Friday nights at the movies.
Jill was a Master Gardener evidenced by her tropical backyard, koi pond, and pool. Her other hobbies included cooking and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Jill is survived by her husband J.D. Womack; daughter Dru Randolph and husband Steve of Padre Island, Texas; son Eric Fry of Dallas, Texas; stepdaughter Jill Reagan and husband Brian of McKinney, Texas; stepdaughter Kelly Rutherford and husband Paul of Plano, Texas; cousin Debbie and husband Lee of Dallas, Texas; cousin Dick Cain and wife Margo of Indiana; and her grandchildren Ray, Joy, Cade, Lainey and Everett.
A memorial service will be held at Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Texas on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Jill's name.
