John B Crosby Jr

John Blake Crosby, Jr. passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at his residence in Richardson, Texas after a long and blessed life. John was 74 years old. John is a native Texan, born in Galveston, Texas February 16, 1939. He grew up in La Marque, Texas as the first of three sons of John B. Crosby and Nancy Barnes Crosby. As a teenager, John received Christ as his savior at Paul's Union Church in La Marque where Rev. Harry Burch was pastor.
John married his high school sweetheart, Marsha Kerst, and they shared the adventures of two children; son, Blake and his wife Beverly with their two children, Sarah and Katherine, and their daughter Jonica Crosby Cason and husband Greg Cason and their two children Bryce Cason and Emory Cason. John and Marsha were blessed to have the children and grandchildren live close by in Richardson and Coppell.
John received his Eagle Scout rank in 1953. He was scoutmaster when son Blake received his Eagle rank in 1978, and assistant scoutmaster when grandson Bryce received his Eagle rank in 2010.
John graduated from La Marque High School in 1957 where he was class president, and then enrolled in the University of Texas Austin on a Navy ROTC scholarship. He graduated from UT Austin in 1962 and immediately went to work for IBM on the NASA programs in Goddard Space Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. John rose through the technical and management ranks in IBM retiring after 31 years as a consulting instructor for the IBM Corporate Education and Training organization.
After retiring from IBM, John founded the niche information technology group: JAD Tech Consulting. In this role, he supported the 1996 Olympics, the Saudi Arabia Ras Tanura Refinery, and multiple government and industry projects globally.
John and Marsha served for over 30 years in the Episcopal Church in choir, on youth programs, as vestry member and Senior Warden of Trinity, Dallas. John also served as Treasurer of the Uganda Christian Church, USA. His orthodox faith led him to the Presbyterian PCA church in 2007. You can see John's more complete biography at www.jadtech.com.
A memorial service will be held at Town North Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Texas on Tuesday, October 1st at 1:00 pm. Family Visitation will be held Monday, September 30th from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Allen Family Funeral Options. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Yale Elementary School PTA - garden water project, Richardson, Texas.
