Jerry Jensen Carter

Jerry Jensen Carter was born in Enid, Oklahoma on June 13, 1947 to Chester M. Carter and Dorothy Jensen Carter. He was raised in the small town of Goltry along with his three siblings. Jerry graduated from Goltry High School in 1965 and then went on to serve in the US Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.

He graduated from North West University in Alva, Oklahoma with a bachelor degree in chemistry and biology. He began his 40- year career in the food industry in 1973 working at Frito-Lay Inc.

Jerry married Janice Wagner in 1982 in Dallas, Texas. They moved to Whittier, California in 1984, where he worked for Lawry's Foods and All American Gourmet Co. They evenually returned to Dallas in early 1995 when he began work again for Frito-Lay. He retired from Frito in 2012.
Jerry is survived by his wife Janice, children Cary (Roisin), Christa, Jamie (Tony), Jessica (Bryin), grandsons Finnian and Bryson, sister Janine (Ralph), brothers Jeff (Helen) and Jon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dorthy Carter.

Services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the American Heart Association or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
