Terry was born on August 5, 1958 in Lewisville, Texas to his parents Franklin McCann and Betty Newton McCann. Terry grew up in Lewisville where he spent much time and had many fond stories of things he did with his etended family and friends. He was a carpenter throughout his adolescence and adult life, working in many areas of construction. His expertise was in texturing walls and he was a perfectionist in that area, as well as many other areas in his life.
He married the love of his life, Lisa Barger on September 12, 1981 and was the father to four wonderful children, all of whom supported and loved him until the very end.
He loved football and especially the Dallas Cowboys. He loved camping, especially in the moutains of Colorado, deep sea fishing at the Gulf, umping adult softball games and he always wanted to fly an airplane, which he was able to fulfill following his diagnosis.
Words that describe Terry are compassionate, loyal, understanding, funny, prankster, loving, hero, compromiser, good listener and a child at heart. He was always a fighter regarding his illness and remained independent as long as he could. His loss of independence and communication were the hardest things for him to endure.
Terry is survived by his wife Lisa McCann, children Celia Smith and her husband Ken, Terry McCann, Jr. and his wife Allison, Just McCann and his wife Emily, Lindsay McCann, grandchildren Colin and Korban Smith and Rylee McCann, father Frank McCann, brothers David McCann and Tony McCann, sisters Teresa Gossett and Deaun Talbott, step-father Bill Gossett, step-sister, Pam Gossett, mother-in-law Mary Barger, sister-in-law Amy Keller and many other loving family and friends. He is preveded in death by his mother Betty Gossett.
