Buddy Lawson went home to be with the Lord, his mother, father, and two brothers on February 7, 2013. Being raised on a farm, Buddy knew hard work from an early age, working the tobacco fields with his family. He enlisted in the Air Force and served his country with distinction for twenty years throughout the United States and in Japan, Thailand, South Korea and Viet Nam. A traffic violation while on leave back home led him to meet June Holley in 1967 and they have been together ever since. He retired from the Air Force in 1979, and the family settled in Orlando, Florida. He then started his second career as an electrical technician and supervisor for Siemans, Corp. for 20 years. Buddy and June moved to Plano, Texas in 2004 in advance of the birth of their first grandson, Jack. He received the gift of two more - Chance and Patrick - in 2009. He loved motorcycles, and some of the happiest times of his life were his long rides with his brother, Blane. He was a perpetual student, pursuing his college degree late in life for no reason other than his own sense of accomplishment. And he continued to take courses in whatever interested him until his death. He was an active member of Hunter's Glen Baptist Church and of the "In the Word" Sunday school class, which he loved. He is survived by his wife June, his son Frank, daughter-in-law Tiffany and his grandchildren Jack, Chance and Patrick.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Road Plano, Texas 75023.
