Our little Noah was given to us by God on December 31, 2010 and was named Christopher Noah Chensky. He was welcomed into our family by parents Christopher John Chensky and Tonya Gibson along with siblings Justin and Brooke Medders and Catherine Chensky. Immediately we fell in love with our new gift and looked forward to the many memories we would begin to build as a family!
It wasn't but a few days when it was discovered that Noah had Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum, ACC - a brain abnormality where the bridge that connects the two hemispheres of the brain is missing. ACC children develop at their own rate and there is a broad spectrum of developmental delays. At not quite six months old Noah was diagnosed with Stage V Bi-lateral Wilms' Tumor Kidney Cancer. As imagined, this was devastating. After 16 weeks of aggressive chemotherapy Noah lost his left kidney and was placed on Peritoneal Dialysis. It was determined that Tonya was a good match to be a live donor in the fall of 2013 after 18 months of being cancer free.
A group of loving and supportive people, now known as "Team Noah" began working hard to cover $100, 000 that would cover medical expenses not covered by insurance. However, this was not their only function. This team of amazing individuals has spent countless hours loving, caring for and encouraging Noah and his family. It is a fact that Noah spent far more time in the confines of a hospital than he did living in his family home environment.
Most recently his 2nd birthday was celebrated in the form of a SUPER HEROS party! His hospital room was lovingly decorated at all times in the appropriate season theme with a constant flow of encouraging well-wishers to encourage Noah. The doctors and nurses were amazing and took very good care of our angel.
Noah went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 16, 2013. This precious baby boy, who had fought so hard, went from the loving arms of his mother, Tonya to the loving arms of God where he will be awaiting to welcome "his team" one day.
Noah leaves to honor his memory mother Tonya, father Christopher, siblings Justin, Brooke and Catherine, maternal grandparents David and Carolyn Branton, aunts and uncles Michelle Gibson, Dave and Corey Branton, Shane and Julie Branton, Matthew and Dana Branton, Frank and Kathleen Chensky.
Team Noah, Ashley Pinnell, Melissa Fuller, Marci Johnson, Lesli Ives, Wendy Peticolas and Randi Eskenazi.
We want to remember and celebrate Noah's living; and all the many treasured memories that we will carry for the remainder of our walk on this earth. Noah was delivered to us with many more gifts than the issues he endured. His life's scripture was given to him and is so appropriate, Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Noah's future is now eternity with our Father in heaven.
