Philip J. Cianciolo was born on October 14, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio to parents James and Josephine Cianciolo. He spent his youth in Youngstown and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942, serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1946.
Afterward, he attended Kent State University and transferred to Duffs Business College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and it was there that he met his future wife, Louise Devine. They were blessed with 59 years of marriage together.
Philip's professional career began as a rate clerk in the trucking industry in Pittsburgh. He subsequently transferred to the Youngstown Cartage Company where he managed the Traffic Department and was elevated to the position of Vice President of Traffic.
Phil was an avid golfer and was most happy when he was with family. He was active in his church, St. Charles Parish in Boardman, Ohio.
In 1982, Phil was transferred to Tampa, Florida where he remained until his retirement in 1990. Subsequently, Phil and Louise moved to Plano, Texas where they are members of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Allen, Texas.
Phil passed from this life on January 9, 2013. He is survived by his wife Louise, children Celeste Schur and husband Tom, Audrey Smith and husband Dave, Michele Anne Szikszay and husband Steve, grandchildren Jessica Glunt and husband Robert, Sarah Schur, Laura Schur, David Smith, Patrick Smith, Steven Szikszay, Mary Katherine Szikszay, great grandchildren Julia Glunt, Lana Glunt and sister Gloria Dattilo. Phil was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1914 Ridgeview Dr., Allen, Texas 75013. A reception will follow and private Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Columbarium in Plano, Texas.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Philip's name to Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Allen, Texas.
