Mollie Hawkins

Mollie Hawkins was born on May 2, 1941 in Albia, Iowa to parents Angus and Marjorie Campbell. She passed from this life to her eternal home on January 6, 2013 at her home in Fairview, Texas.
The love of her life was her husband Don, her two boys Bill and Kevin and their families and her dog Rascal.
Mollie met Don in summer school in 1957 and she caught his eye from the very first moment. They dated for four to five months before she went away to college, reconnected later, started dating again and ultimately were married on July 5, 1963. Mollie was employed by Banker's Life until May 28, 1964 when their first son Bill was born. After his birth, she committed the rest of her life to being a mother; a job she was so very suited for.
Don graduated from college in 1966 and the family moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas where he began his career with Baxter Laboratories. On December 26, 1968, a second son, Kevin was born.
Mollie loved living in the Ozark's. She enjoyed the outdoors, nature and animals with her boys. She was an amazing, dedicated and devout "boys mom". She would help them gather anything from the outdoors they wanted to collect and keep (snakes included). It was in Mountain Home that Mollie made many lifelong friends and close relationships, many of whom still live there.
In 1970 the family made a move to Grays Lake, Illinois. She continued her love of her family and their outdoor adventures there. Over the following several years, the family moved to numerous different cities including Antioch, Illinois, Dallas, Texas, Boston, Massachusetts and Scottsdale, Arizona. Finally, in 2003 they settled into their current home in Fairview. During the many moves and Don's job requiring him to travel frequently, it was Mollie's strength that was able to keep the home fires burning and she maintained a stable home for the family.
Mollie is survived by her husband Don, sons Bill and his wife Jill, Kevin and his wife Kimberly, grandchildren Blake Hawkins, Ryan Flota, Libby Hertzberg, Kelsie Hawkins and Keaton Hawkins, great grandchildren Max Hertzberg, Myles Hertzberg, Baer Hertzberg, Ava Clair Flota and Liam Flota and siblings Angus K. Campbell, III, Bonnie Lewis, Linda Rhodes, Louise Johns and Steve Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents Angus and Marjorie Campbell, her sister Caroline "Cookie" Palmer and brothers Andy and Gene McCombs.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Chase Oaks Church, 281 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas 75023. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.
