John Hall Brown Jr

December 27, 1927 — January 7, 2010

John Hall Brown. Jr. grew up in Sherman Texas. He studied architecture at Texas A&M and joined his father in the Sherman firm in 1965. Later the firm moved to the Dallas area and in 1984 his son Hardy joined the practice allowing the 3 generations to work together for the next 8 years. Since 1947 the firm of Brown, Brown and Associates has completed over 300 church projects in the Dallas area. John was a member of the Richardson Rotary Club for over 30 years.

John was a strong man of faith. He was raised in a Christian home, and accepted Christ as his personal Lord in his early 30's, beginning an intimate relationship with christ which changed his life and his family's life forever.

As a long time member of Chase Oaks (formerly Fellowship Bible Church North), John served in many capacities including being a Marriage Mentor, a Small Group Pastor, and serving in The Prison Ministry. Two mission trips to orphanages in russia and one to Mexico were especially meaningful to John and his wife Marna.

John's impact on the many men he walked with was great as he modeled a very joy-filled genuine masculinity and loving personal relationship with his Creator that was both inspiring and contagious.

John is surived by his loving and devoted wife, marna Brown, his sister, Margaret Landolt and husband Bob, his sons, Hardy Brown and his wife Robyn, Daren Brown and wife Janel, grandchildren, Daniel, Kristin, Johnmarc, Landry and Rylan, foster daughters, Melanie perry and Tracy Hernandez. He is preceded in death by his parents John Hall Brown and Hilda Brown. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Chase Oaks Church, 281 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas 75025.
