Sharon Seitz was born on February 1st, 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska to Dolores and Richard Holling. She grew up in Omaha with her two younger siblings, Gail Patsos and Dale Holling.
Sharon enrolled at Kansas State University where she studied in the college of Home Economics, concentrating in Consumer Affairs, hoping to help others. While at Kansas State, Sharon met Richard "Rick" Seitz. Following the completion of her bachelor's degree, Sharon and Rick were married and headed to Texas. They bought a home in Plano, and after a few years of adjusting to life in Texas they started a family with a baby girl, Katherine "Katie" Elizabeth Seitz. After Katie's birth, Sharon postponed her career for a year to care for her daughter. Sharon and Rick were happily married for seventeen years before they parted ways.
As a single mother, Sharon was heavily involved with LifePoint Church (formerly known as Grace Community Church) in Plano. She led the Welcome Team, Divorce Care classes, a Single & Parenting class, a Single Moms group, served on the LifePoint kids Welcome Team, and coordinated many single parent family support efforts at Christmas time for four years. Sharon had a deep faith and a strong relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord.
She was happy to help in any way she could. When Katie left for college at Texas A&M University, Sharon became filled with the same Aggie Spirit that Katie had caught. Sharon joined the Collin County Aggie Mothers club and remained an active member even after Katie's graduation in 2010. Sharon spent most of her free time giving back to her community through both the church and Aggie club services.
Sharon was a big animal lover and shared her home with numerous cats and dogs - namely her dog Cocoa and her cats Callie and Harley, along with the various pets Katie brought home when she was young. In her free time Sharon enjoyed watching Dallas Stars hockey, grabbing a meal with her friends and family members, and visiting Katie and her fiancé Nathan in Euless, Texas.
Sharon is survived by her loving daughter Katherine Elizabeth Seitz and fiancé Nathaniel Scott Kasten, mother Dolores Holling, siblings Gail Patsos and Dale Holling, many loving relatives, co-workers and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Richard Holling.
The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 PM Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Allen Family Funeral Options. A funeral service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2012 at LifePoint Church, 4501 Hedgecoxe Road, Plano, Texas 75024 with Pastor George Feiser officiating.
If desired memorials may be made in Sharon's name to LifePoint Church for the Single Parent Families Support.
