Deidre Gilbert

Surrounded by her loving family, it is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Deidre Holder (Lamb) Gilbert, wife of Howard Cobb Gilbert of Parker, Texas. Deidre was born in Stamford, Connecticut on May 28, 1938, the daughter of Charles Murray Lamb and Marion Porter Lamb.

Deidre is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Howard Cobb Gilbert, her three devoted daughters, Michelle (Ralph) Dickerson of Garland, Kristen (Nicholas) Shanker of Fairview and Sherri Anthony of Richardson and David Anthony of Garland and her cherished grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Ryan Dickerson, Allison and Blake Anthony and Zachary Shanker. She is also survived by her brother, Garth (Katie) Lamb of Anderson, Indiana.

Allen Family Funeral Options is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2012. A celebration of Deidre's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Plano Bible Chapel, 1900 Shiloh Road, Plano. Donations may be made to The Voice of the Martyrs or to a charity of the donor's choice.

At Deidre's request, burial will be held at a later date at the Long Reach United Church, Kingston Peninsula, New Brunswick, Canada with her Canadian family and friends where her heart has always remained. Reid's Funeral Home, Hampton New Brunswick will be in charge of the burial arrangements.
