Sharyn Schweder

September 12, 1948 — September 12, 2012

Sharyn Joann Schweder was born September 12, 1948 to Charles and Jessie Sahm and left this life on September 12, 2012. She loved her family deeply and treasured her friends greatlyinvesting much prayer time for each of themeven in her times of sickness and weakness. She loved to laugh, make others laugh, and enjoyed life along the way. She loved her grandkids and gave of her life selflessly to affect their lives in ways that would bless them and help them understand more about God.
God was her passion. Her heart's desire was to love Him and trust Him more each day. Sharyn was the extension of Christ's love to those in need of His salvation and hope. To that end, she went on more than 20 missions trips to Russia. The Lord used her to reach out to the hungry, the hurting, and the lostwhether it was ministering to street kids in Russia, helping to distribute wheelchairs in Belarus, hugging on children in hospitals or orphanages, sharing hope and forgiveness for prisoners, encouraging the volunteers she took to different countries around the world, or (most recently) sharing her source of peace with her medical staff during her weakest days.
She followed through with several of these people year after year in earnest persistence that, no matter how long it took, they would know it wasn't just her that loved thembut a Holy God who wanted a relationship with them. This wasn't something she fit into her calendar or endured when time allowed; it was her life's work and her daily ambitions.
People were drawn to her because she was approachable, sincere, giving, stubborn enough to make things happen and, most importantly, filled with the love of Christbecoming Him to all. For those who know her, this is who they know her to be. For those who don't, she would want you to know this day about the passionate love of Christ for you personally.
Sharyn is survived by her daughter Diane Bottorff and her husband Dave, grandchildren Zachary Bottorff and Samantha Bottorff, brothers Charles Sahm and Keith Sahm, former husband Jim Schweder and her father Charles Sahm. Sharyn is preceded in death by her mother Jessie Greygor.
