Estella Hale Brasiel "Gran" departed this life to join her Heavenly Family on August 10, 2012. She was born February 10, 1922 in Moundsville, West Virginia to parents Dennis and Mildred Hale.
Estella loved being with her family and especially being known to her grandchildren and their friends as "Gran". She was a 10 year employee of Garland Independent School District. Estella was a one in a million type of volunteer and felt "called" to this work and enjoyed it very much. She loved to play the piano but didn't read music, everything was by ear. She and her husband Emmett led worship at a nursing home in Garland many years ago and this brought them both much joy. Gran even recently would play the piano at the assisted living home. She was a loyal and faithful member of Hunters Glen Baptist Church and also a member of the Friendship class.
Gran is survived by her loving daughter Joni D. Lewis and her husband Bill, 2 grandchildren Kyle Essary and his wife Jamie, Katy Essary Rozell and her husband Nick, 6 great grandchildren, Andrew, Nikki, Abby, Anna, Emma and A.J., sister Maxine Jeffries. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emmett W Brasiel, one sister and three brothers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service for visitation at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Road, Plano, Texas. The funeral service to celebrate Gran's life will begin at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas. The family suggests instead of flowers, memorials be made to the International Mission Board and sent to Hunters Glen Baptist Church, designated to the IMB in memory of Estella Brasiel or to Advance International, 3000 Custer Rd., Suite 270-208, Plano, Texas 75075.
