Samuel Curtis Dumas was born on January 28, 1989 in Sherman, Texas. He passed away on May 2, 2012 in Austin, Texas. He is survived by his father and step-mother Bill Dumas and Kathy Baum Dumas, mother Samantha Howard Wood, step-father, James Wilkins, siblings, J.C. Wilkins, Esther and Hannah Wood, paternal grandparents French and Julie Dumas, maternal grandparents Sam and Sharon Howard, paternal great-grandfather Jack Kupsick, maternal great-grandmother Mildred Glidewell and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather Curtis "Curt" Dumas, Sr., paternal great-grandmother Ina Helen Miller and his maternal great-grandmother Ora Howard.
Samuel graduated from Bonham High School in 2007. He was a very talented, sensitive, and introspective young man. He was an accomplished artist, musician, and writer. Samuel loved to talk deeply about music, food, and philosophy. He loved to cook and spent many hours playing his guitar, reading, and drawing. He had an infectious laugh and a wicked sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to spend time with him.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Cemetery, near Valley View, Texas (on FM 372 about 1 miles north of the intersection of FM 922 and FM 372).
