Margaret Barnes of Garland, Texas formerly of Laredo Texas, passed away on April 7, 2011. She was born in San Antonio Texas on May 7, 1913 to Tom & Edna Power. Margaret graduated from Santa Rosa Hospital Class of 1935, as a registered nurse. She worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Laredo and later as a Webb county public health nurse. Margaret was a very faithful and devoted Christian woman who spent many years serving others in Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Godfrey Norcross Barnes. Margaret, fondly known as Sissy to her loving family is survived by daughters Hazel Barnes Dean and her husband Hardy L, Dean of Fresno, Texas and Tommy Barnes Reuthinger and her husband William S. Reuthinger of Sachse, Texas, grandchildren, Deborah and William Scott Reuthinger, great grandchildren Ricky Wayne Mason, Ronnie Wayne Mason, Bryan Thomas Mason, Amy Reuthinger, Alli Reuthinger, great-great grandchildren Grace Mason and Cassidy Mason. A private family graveside service was held Friday, April 8, 2011 a Plano Mutual cemetery where Margaret was laid to rest with her beloved husband.
