Gloria A Pieper

Gloria Allen Pieper, age 68, of Frisco, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012. She was born on November 24, 1943 in Enid, Oklahoma to parents James H. and Bertha (Davidson) Allen. Gloria attended school in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1961. She graduated from Enid Business College and went to work at Champlain Petroleum Co. in Enid. After venturing to Boston to live and work, she joined American Airlines in 1966 and moved to Chicago to begin her career as a flight attendant. Gloria spent most of her career with American, based in Dallas, initially flying domestic and then switching to international. She retired from American in 2004 following a long and rewarding career. While at American, Gloria earned both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she also taught Economics. Additionally, Gloria obtained her real estate license and taught and sold real estate as a sideline career. Gloria was an active, generous and faithful church member. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Arlington and most recently a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Plano where she served as an usher and participated in numerous mission and Sunday School projects. Gloria resided in a number of Dallas-Ft. Worth locations over the years. She was an active person and enjoyed interacting with her many friends in various activities. She especially enjoyed playing bridge and traveling; having been fortunate enough to visit the seven continents over the past few years. She and Wendell Pieper were married on September 24, 2004 in Plano and they most recently have resided in Frisco, Texas. Gloria is survived by her husband Wendell of Frisco, step-daughter Julie Ellison and husband Andrew of Parker, Texas, step-son Jeffrey Pieper and wife Cari of Ft. Worth, Texas, step-grandchildren Ashley and Courtney Ellison and Peyton, Jordan, Nathaniel and Hailey Pieper, sister Barbara Kochenower and husband Norman of Enid, Oklahoma, brother Robert Allen of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Gloria very much appreciated and cared about her family and many friends. She loved her step-grandchildren and especially loved and was loved by her husband. She will be missed very much by all who know and loved her. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Rd., Plano, Texas at 1:30 p.m. Gloria will be laid to rest following a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Enid Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma.
