Stacey Franklin, September 1, 1961 to Julius McKinney andd Lillian Gail (formerly Wilson ) McKinney, was called home to Our Lord at one PM on 18 February 2011 from her home in Frisco, Texas. She graduated from Girls High School and Temple University both of Philadelphia; finishing with a Bachelors degree in Nursing in 1984. She continued her journey entering the US Army Nurse Corps in 1984, being stationed in El Paso, TX. During her time in El Paso, she met and married Michael Franklin in December 31, 1985. Stacey attained a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University, while on active duty. After a brief ten year career in the Army, Stacey earned a `Doctor of Jurisprudence` Degree from the University of Puget Sound ( now Seattle University ) School of Law in 1997 where she served as member of the "order of The Barrister" and Class Vice President. Keeping nursing near and dear to her heart, Stacey worked as a school nurse in Europe's Department of Defense Schools system. Upon returning to the United States in 2001, she worked as an adjudicator for the Texas Workforce Commission in Dallas, Texas. She later retired from service as both a manager and technical advisor for the US Department of Treasury's Internal Revenue Service Equal Employment Commission.
Preceded in Death by her parents, Stacey is survived by her husband, Michael, one son, Dwane McKinney and wife Shelley and granddaughter Juliana of Burleson, Texas, a stepson, Kevin Franklin of Grand Prarie Texas, three brothers, Ronnie and wife Marcie, Dwane, and Darryl McKinney of Philadelphia, two sisters, Julia Brannam and husband Gene, and Sandra McKinney of Philadelphia. Stacey is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A memorial service will be conducted at Collin Creek Baptist Church located at 1905 East Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75074 on Tuesday 22 February from 6PM until 8PM.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4161 Newhall Street Philadelphia 19140 on Friday 25 February 2011.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at Collin Creek Baptist Church located at 1905 East Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75074 on Saturday 5 March commencing at 11 AM.
Final interment will be at the Dallas National Memorial Cemetery at a date to be scheduled by the US Department of Veteran's affairs.
