Mary Catherine Pidgeon

October 18, 1923 — March 23, 2012

Mary Catherine Pidgeon was born October 18, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to parents Eugene and Elizabeth Duffy. Mary Catherine was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio; however she resided in Plano Texas prior to her passing. She was married to George Thomas Pidgeon who preceded her in death on April 24, 1993.
Mary graduated from St. Mary High School in Cincinnati on June 6th 1941. She married George T. Pidgeon April 25, 1942. After raising her children she had a very extensive working career culminating with her retirement from the Internal Revenue Service. Always the devout Catholic she was a regular attendee of church and a serious volunteer. No task challenge or request from the church she loved went uncompleted. She was widely loved and maintained long time friendships in Ohio, Florida, and Texas, never having an unkind word about anyone and all people who had the pleasure to meet her were touched by her kind personality
She was preceded in death by her husband George Thomas Pidgeon who died on April 24, 1993. Mary is survived by three children Kathleen Mary Schneider wind (nee Pidgeon) and her husband Larry of Plano, Texas, Michael Timothy Pidgeon and his wife Kimberly of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Benjamin Richard Pidgeon, of Fort Wayne Indiana, grandchildren Mike and Kevin Schneiderwind, David, Brian, Katie, Candace and Benjamin Pidgeon and three great-children Rianna, Madeline and Ryan. She is also survived by her siblings Betty Ciolino and James Duffy.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St., Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023. The Reverend Monsignor Henry V. Petter and The Reverend Bruce Bradley will serve as co-celebrants. A reception will follow the mass in the Parrish hall.
If desired, memorials may be made in Mary's name to the building fund at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
