Billy Jim Mooneyham

Billy Jim Mooneyham, referred to as "Mr. Moon" or "Popoo", went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2012. He blessed us with 80 wonderful and memorable years. Billy was born on January 22, 1932 to Alfred and Beulah (Pendleton) Mooneyham in Marionville, Missouri. He married his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth Crumbliss Mooneyham on February 11, 1951. They were happily married for 61 years and were blessed with 2 wonderful children, Karen Sue and Kevin Jim. He was the proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Billy was the epitome of a true southern gentleman. His calm spirit and selfless nature touched all that knew him. He was truly committed to his family and friends. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and retired from Armco Steel Corporation after 30 years of service. After retirement, he volunteered as a baby cuddler at Methodist Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Karen Peeler (Tim); brother, Jerry Mooneyham (Judy); Grandsons: Kyle Humke (April), Tyler Cloud and Justin Mooneyham; Grandaughters: Ashley Dugan (Sean) and Katelyn Mooneyham; Great Grandsons: Jackson, Dylan and Tristan. He is also survived by Becky Mooneyham Gore; a host of family and friends and his constant canine companion, Annabelle. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Alfred and Beulah Mooneyham; son, Kevin Jim Mooneyham; sister, Betty Mooneyham Nichols and Great Grandson, Royce Haskell Dugan. Memorial service will be held on Monday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 12411 Templeton Trail, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wednesday's Child Benefit Corporation - the Kevin Mooneyham Self Esteem Fund or Alzheimer's Foundation.
