Richard Leon "Dave" Davisson, 74, of Sherman, Texas passed away March 20 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison after a brief battle with cancer.
Dave grew up in Newkirk, Oklahoma. After serving four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, he earned his Associates Degree in Photography from Amarillo Junior College. He worked at Pantex nuclear plant in Amarillo until 1974 and then spent the rest of his career at Otis Engineering in Carrollton, Texas and MIC Technologies in Richardson, Texas before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed photography, gun collecting, and reading and discussing philosophy, religion, and science. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and honesty by those who knew him well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Zela Davisson, and brothers-in-law Bob Fitzpatrick and Ezra Dingus. He is survived by his sons, David and his wife Jennifer Bosson of Tampa, Florida; Stephen and his wife Christine and granddaughter Taylor Newman of Frisco, Texas; sisters Frances Fitzpatrick of Ponca City, OK and Barbara Dingus of Newkirk, OK.
A Time of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 2 - 4:00 pm at Allen Family Funeral Options, 2120 W. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, 75023.
