Sue Ellen Higgins

Sue Ellen Higgins was born March 26, 1939 in Chicago, IL and passed away in Plano, TX on November 5, 2011. She was a long time resident of North Little Rock, AR and has been a resident of Plano since 1976.

Both she and her siblings graduated from University of Arkansas then Sue went on to the University of Tulsa where she got her law degree and began practicing law in 1994.
She was an avid cyclist and enjoyed many other activities such as gardening, traveling, bible study, practicing law and spending time with her friends and family.

Sue Ellen is preceded in death by her parents James Joseph Derning and Ella Twinn Derning. She is survived by her sister Eileen Elias of Plano, TX, brother Pat and wife Janie Derning of Lonoke, AR, and brother Joe Derning of Miami, FL., Eileen's children: Allison and husband Mike Lebeck and their daughter Sarah, Emily and husband Ryan Rozypal and their sons Reid and Chad, Chad and wife Alicia Elias and their son Christian, Pat's children Skip Derning, Mike Derning and Celeste Love Archer, and Sue Ellen's sons Eric and Liz Higgins of McKinney and their children Zach and Benson, and Lance Higgins of Plano and their children Daniel and Denny.

Sue Ellen was a long time, devoted member of Christ Church Plano.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be sent to the Collin County Advocacy Center (2205 Los Rios Boulevard Plano, TX. 75074).

Services will be held on Saturday November 12, 2011 at 3:30 PM in the chapel of Christ Church Plano 4550 Legacy Drive Plano, TX. 75024
