Shirley Anne Phillips

August 12, 1934 — November 24, 2011

In 1951, Shirley met and married the love of her life, Percy. After seven years, they adopted two children - David and Suzanne. With these having become adults with children of their own, two grandchildren - Keisha and Joshua - were taken into their home and raised to adulthood. As years passed their family grew to include their spouses, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as a beautiful lady who gave so much of herself to others. She excelled at being a devoted "MeMe" and her favorite times included family.

She and Percy loved to camp, ski and were active in their Christian lives. Shirley taught Sunday School and Bible School and led many ladies' fellowships. We will miss her sweet smile and her hugs.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Percy Phillips, children David Paul Phillips and his wife Debbie, Suzanne Shanks and her husband Johnny, Keisha Lynn Tipping and her husband Tracy, William Joshua Black and his wife Abby, grandchildren Richard Deese, David Phillips, Jr., Justin Paul Black, Michael Jerrod Black, great grandchildren Taitum Paul Tipping, Brianna Upchurch,
Halli Elizabeth Black, Devin Paul Phillips, Parker James Black and Lylah Grey Tipping.
