Rene Simpson

Elsie Lorraine Jones Simpson, known to friends as Rene' died at the age of 83 on Monday, October 24, 2011 in Plano, Texas. She passed away after fighting cancer.



Rene' was born on June 6, 1928 in Memphis, Texas to William Thomas Jones and Nora Beatrice Anthony Jones. She was the 2nd of 9 children. She was raised and very active in the Church of Christ all of her life. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association, American Business Women's Club and the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. She retired from the City of Carrollton after working there for many years.



Rene' once said that of all the things she learned in life the most important was to know what you wanted read at your funeral. Simply this meant to have a goal for your life and work towards it every day.



Rene' is survived by her her son Gregory Kent Wood and his wife Sharon, daughter Marsha Linn Wood Anderson, grandchildren Shahna Argyle and her husband Brent, Christopher Brandt, Lindsey Golden and husband Kyle, and Tyler Anderson. She also had 6 great-grandchildren, Jensen, Tanner, McKinley, Reagan, Brady and Grant. She is also survived by her sisters Vesta Jones Brown, Rachel Elizabeth Ann Jones, Rebecca Colleen Jones Chase and Virginia Dale Jones Smith.



She is preceded in Death by her spouse James Hendrix Simpson and siblings Thomas Arthur Jones, Darlene Lee Jones, and Shirley Kay Jones.



There will be a service in Rene's honor on Thursday, October 27th at 11:00 am at the Farmer Branch Church of Christ (3035 Valley View Lane Farmers Branch, TX. 75234) followed by a burial ceremony at the DFW Veterans National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
