Marguerite June Zorad

September 23, 1930 — December 19, 2011

Marguerite June Zorad passed away of natural causes on December 19, 2011 in Plano, TX. Marguerite lived in Texas for the past eight years to be near her daughter, but her true home was in Southern California where she lived for 54 years. She was born in Nixa, MO on September 23, 1930 to Ethel and Clarence Doran and grew up in Springfield, MO.

Marguerite married Homer Agee during her junior year of High School. Homer's service in the US Marine Corps, which began shortly after Marguerite's graduation, relocated them several times with his last assignment in Southern California. They bought a home in Pomona, CA where Marguerite was employed by General Telephone Electronics Company until she retired in 1991. Marguerite was blessed with her daughter, Sheree, in 1957 and continued to work days while Homer worked nights until Sheree started elementary school. Homer was tragically taken from Marguerite by a fatal heart attack in 1970, after twenty-two blissful years of marriage. Marguerite took pleasure in square dancing, bowling and served a couple of years as the president of the Opti-mrs club. She remarried over a decade later to Thomas Zorad with whom she enjoyed 20 years of marriage. Some of their best times were spent as grandparents to Angela and Bryan. Marguerite was widowed once again, when Tom died several months following their 20th wedding anniversary.

Marguerite's favorite pastime was touring the country on the road with Homer and Tom, both of whom lavished her in the camping lifestyles of a princess - the RV had to have a full bathroom and air conditioning. During her retirement years, Tom and Marguerite enjoyed many motor home trips and visited all 48 of the continental United States, Canada and Mexico. Her final voyage was an Alaskan cruise accompanied by Sheree. Though Marguerite loved to travel, she was always happy to return home to Claremont, CA.

Marguerite will always be remembered for her kind and gentle demeanor, exquisite taste and fashion, and sincerity towards others. Her cheery disposition and politeness always ensured that she was well treated - a feeling that she desired to give everyone. She was a favorite of anyone having the pleasure to work with her. Marguerite never failed to express her gratitude and she is especially thankful today for your thoughts and prayers.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sheree and Robert Reeves of Plano, TX, two grandchildren, Angela Reeves and her fiancé Mena Abdelmelek of Seabrook, TX, Bryan Reeves of Irvine, CA, and a sister, Marge Berg of Sun City, AZ

Marguerite's favorite charity is the Dallas Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk in which Sheree leads the team "Celebration". If you would like to memorialize Marguerite, you may donate to any team member in her honor. http://wwwthe3day.org/site/TR/2011/General?pg=team&fr_id=1764&team_id=200221.

A graveside service will be held on January 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm in Pomona Valley Memorial Park, Pomona, CA, where she will be buried with Homer Agee.
