Ima Nita Low

April 7, 1913 — July 23, 2011

Ima Nita Low, 98, of Arlington, Texas, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2011. Ima was born on April 7, 1913 in Altus, Oklahoma, to Reverend and Mrs. B.F. Pritchett. She was one of nine children raised in a loving, Christ-centered family. Ima married Ralph Low at the First Methodist Church in Fort Worth, Texas on July 9, 1933. The Lows were blessed with two sons, Bill and Bob. Fulfilling a life-long dream, Ima graduated with honors from Wichita State University with a degree in English, and prior to graduation, she became a published author. The Lows were devoted members and Sunday school teachers at Pantego Bible Church in Arlington, and later, Ima joined Arlington First Church of the Nazarene. Ima loved serving as a Bible Study Fellowship Leader in Arlington for many years, growing in God's love and sharing her faith with others. When Ralph Low went to be with the Lord, Ima retired to Town Village Arlington, where she made many wonderful friends. She continued to teach Sunday school and served on the Advisory Council at Town Village well into her nineties. Most of all, she enjoyed precious times with her family.

Ima is survived by her sons and their spouses, Bill and Candis Low of Arlington, Texas and Dr. Bob and Carmen Low of Portland, Texas; Grandchildren Denise and Danny Rice of Lucas, Texas, Bill and Kelly Low of Edmond, Oklahoma, Carter and Mary Ellen Low of Argyle, Texas, Drs. Brandon and Leah Low of Galveston, Texas, Courtney Low of Portland, Texas, Jordan and Desarae Low of Irving, Texas, Kevin Low of Seattle, Washington, and Savannah Low of Arlington, Texas; Great-Grandchildren Nikki Shea of Plano, Texas, Casey Low of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Taylor Low of Argyle, Texas, Will Low of Edmond, Oklahoma, Holly Low of Edmond, Oklahoma, Shelby Low of Argyle, Texas, Pierce Low of Edmond, Oklahoma, Tessa Burum of Argyle, Texas, Collin Burum of Argyle, Texas, Michael Low of Irving, Texas, Gabriel Low of Irving, Texas, Catherine Low of Galveston, Texas and Charlotte Low of Galveston, Texas; Sisters and their spouses, Barbara and Bill Williams of Conroe, Texas, Margaret and Neil Toler of Arlington, Texas, Mary and Ronnie Brown of Fort Worth, Texas and beloved cousins, nephews, nieces, Dr. Suzie Avila, Ellen Low, Steven Finck, and countless other precious friends.

Ima was preceded in death by her parents, B.F. and Cora Pritchett of Fort Worth, husband, Ralph Low of Arlington, sisters, Noma Cramer of Arlington, Ruth Dumas of Everman, and Jeannie Twaddle of Columbus, Indiana; and brothers, Ray Pritchett of Clovis, New Mexico and Frank Pritchett, Jr. of Mineral Wells, Texas.

A memorial service was held at Arlington First Church of the Nazarene on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM, 1301 West Green Oaks Boulevard Arlington, TX. 76013.
