Artema Blanton Buie

Artema Blanton Buie passed away January 9, 2010 at her home in McKinney, Texas. She was born August 7, 1921 to Wallace Lee and Cynthia Mae Blanton in Cordell, Washita County, Oklahoma. Artema graduated from Cordell High School and Abilene Christian College.

Prior to her retirement she was an Office Manager for a Civil Engineering firm. She was a member of Mc Dermott Road Church of Christ in Plano, Texas and formerly a member of The Colonies Church of Christ in Amarillo, Texas. Artema moved from Amarillo to McKinney to be closer to her family in September 2006.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Robert A. Buie of McKinney, son Robert Michael Buie, Sr. and wife Shari of McKinney, grandson Robert Michael Buie, Jr. and wife Amber of McKinney, granddaughter Brooke Buie Ross and husband Jeffrey of Allen, great grandchildren Jorie Bryn and Briley Kate Buie of McKinney and Ryann Alexis Ross of Allen, nieces Stephanie Brennen of Amarillo and Marcia Weaver of Plano, nephew Kim McMorries of Nacogdoches, cousin Artelle Stiff of McKinney and preceded in death by sister Billie Jean McMorries.

A memorial service to celebrate Artema's life will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at McDermott Road Church of Christ, 3600 McDermott Road, Plano, Texas 75025, officiated by Mark Bryson, Matt Wadsworth and Bill R. McMorries. Honorary Pallbearers are Rob Buie, Bill McMorries, Kim McMorries, Kevin Brennen, Bill Weaver, Jeffrey Ross, Ed Buie and Austin Brennen. Artema will be laid to rest at Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, Texas.
