Dan Stanley

January 15, 1953 — September 3, 2011

Dan Stanley was a loving Son, Husband, Daddy, Pawpaw and friend. The Lord welcomed him home on September 3, 2011. He was born in Columbus, GA on January 15, 1953 to Bulah Mae Bienkowski and Daniel Gary Stanley. He had many fond memories of his childhood and all the trouble he and his cousins got into. Dan found love twice. He was first married to Betty Jean Stanley who blessed him with his first daughter and was later married to Kathy Marie Stanley, and blessed with 3 more daughters by choice. Dan, Kathy and the girls moved from Georgia to Texas in 1993. In 1998 all of the hard work and sacrifices granted them the ability to build a house in Wylie, TX. and make a house into a home. He was a family man, a hard worker, and selfless man. He adored Kathy and the life they had made together. They were married for over 27 years.

His ethic was to be admired - he made a living as a musician until moving to Texas in 1993. Some of Dan's musical talents were captured on video and shared on youtube. He commited to a 9-5 desk job when he was in his 40s to provide a better life for his family. He worked for Tasco Message Center, Budget Rent-A-Car, Ford Motor Credit, and most recently the Internal Revenue Service. Dan perservered! He'd go to work no matter how bad he felt and rarely complained about pain caused by his health problems. He was a strong man. He wanted his life to have purpose and it did. He took family pictures to work so he could brag about all of his children and grandchildren. He loved his mom more than anything and called her on a regular basis. It hurt him to be so far away from her but he knew she was being well taken care of by Pat and Paul. Dan made many sacrifices to be a family man and he gave it his all every day.

Dan had many hobbies, he enjoyed things like debating, telling stories, making up silly songs, and talking about politics or winning the lottery. He liked Nascar, going to the rodeo and the Improv. He enjoyed watching wrestling. He liked RC Cola and Zero candy bars. He absolutely loved music which carried over to his daughters.

He was a hugger and would always tell you how much he loved you and how proud he was of you so you woudn't forget that he was always in your corner. He taught us many lessons which make us all who we are today.

Even though his death was sudden we are thankful to know that he is no longer suffering. He is walking upright, free from the arthritis that limited his body. He is up in Heaven telling jokes or stories about his life and singing along to Leamon playing piano.

Dan was survived by his loving wife Kathy Stanley, 4 daughters and their husbands; Danuel Peacher and husband Tommy, Tiffany Thompson and her husband James, Stephanie Michelle Glasgow and her husband William, Jennifer Ogas and her husband John, his grandchildren; Amber and Tanner Peacher, Daniel and Abby Thompson, McKenzie and Sean Glasgow, his mother Bulah Bienkowski, his sister Patricia Puzder, and many other friends and family.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Daniel Gary Stanley and brother Larry Holman.

An Evening of Remembrance will be held for Danny on Friday September 9, 2011 at Allen Family Funeral Options from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Words will be spoken about Danny's life at 7:00 PM.
