Emily Jeanette Boone was born on October 1, 1930 in Enfield, North Carolina to parents Willie and Pattie Wells Billups.
She will be especially remembered for her devotion in serving others and her concern for their well-being. This care for others was most evident in her professional life as a registered nurse for over forty years and her service on the I.V. therapy team. Emily began her nursing career at Parkview Hospital and remained there until 1971 when the hospital closed and moved its patients to Nash General Hospital. While at Parkview Emily met Jimmie Boone and they were married in 1963.
Laughter and having a good time were important components in Emily's life. She was a good friend to those who knew her and she took great joy in baking her delicious cakes for friends and family members. Emily was also good at staying in touch with others and often wrote beautiful cards to let people know they were on her mind and in her heart. She will also be remembered for her talented ability to create beautifully adorned wrapped gifts. Emily's Christian faith was firm and deep seeded. The family moved to Plano, Texas in 1979 and she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Plano where she served as her Sunday school class secretary for over 20 years.
Emily was called home to be with her Lord on July 15, 2010. She will be dearly missed and loved forever as a devoted wife, loving mother, dear grandmother and a wonderful friend to many. Emily was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Boone and sister
