Jeffrey Scott Blandford "Jeff" of Plano, Texas passed away in his sleep, Thursday, January 14, 2010. He is now in peace delighting in the presence of Christ his Savior. Jeff was a devoted Christian husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Jeff was born October 9, 1964, to Keith and Carol Blandford of Peoria, Illinois. The youngest of three boys, he attended Kellar Elementary School, the same as his mother. Jeff always enjoyed reminiscing about his blessed childhood. He played hockey from nursery school through middle school. Jeff attended Richwoods High School and was an accomplished swimmer. The Country Club of Peoria was the topic of many childhood memories and the snack bar suffered when the Blandfords moved to Texas.
Jeff graduated from Plano Sr. High in 1983. He attended Texas Tech but converted to a proud Baylor Bear pledging Phi Gamma Delta and was honored to be voted pledge class president. He served as a Young Life leader during his time at Baylor. He graduated in May 1987, with a BS in Accounting and passed his CPA on the first attempt.
Jeff married his sweetheart Holly Haberer on September 12, 1987. They recently celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary. Together they served as 5th grade kidzone teachers for sixteen years and continue to be active members of Chase Oaks Church.
He began his career at Arthur Anderson following his graduation from Baylor. In 1994 he joined Omnicom and shortly thereafter became the CFO of its member company, Tic Toc. During those sixteen years Jeff devoted himself to his co-workers and developed cherished friendships.
Jeff held numerous board positions with Rainbow Days which speaks to his love of children. The births of his own, Josh and Sarah were the happiest days of his life.
As a Charter Member of the Memphis Barbecue Network he loved to judge and eat BBQ. Jeff was an avid boater who loved being on the water with his family.
A lot of people live twice as long and influence so few - Jeff impacted the lives of hundreds. And that's the measure of a man and not how long he lives.
Jeff is survived by his wife Holly Blandford, children Joshua (Josh) Andrew and Sarah Nicole Blandford, parents Keith and Carol Blandford, brothers Douglas Keith Blandford and wife Marcia, Gregory Mc Adoo Blandford and wife Beth, father in law Nick Haberer and wife Sharon, mother in law Suzanne Flores and husband Bob, nieces and nephews Ben, Dani, Stephen, Isaac and Mattie.
