Betty Sue Robertson

October 2, 1945 — September 21, 2011

Betty Sue Robertson was born on October 2, 1945 and passed into heaven on September 21, 2011.

Betty was born in Smithville, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. Music was always a very important part of Betty's life and she could play many instruments including the banjo, guitar, piano and bass. She was a member of two bluegrass bands, Mountain Lace and Buffalo Nickel. She was instrumental in founding the Bay Area Bluegrass Association in the Houston area and served as their president for several years.

She is survived by two daughters, Tiffany Forrest of Frisco, Texas and Lindsay Rose of Huntsville, Texas, four beautiful grandchildren, Kate, Zach, Symphony and JT, and her sister June Medley, of Robstown, Texas.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing and tubing down the river each summer in New Braunfels as part of her annual "River Run" party. Most importantly though, she shared her love of music with all that knew her, either through teaching children to play piano or guitar, coordinating bluegrass festivals, harmonizing on songs with her daughters or staying up all night singing her favorite songs around the campfire.

Betty was full of life and was blessed with many friends. She will be sorely missed, but we are comforted that she in a better place, playing her banjo and harmonizing with the angels.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday September 24, 2011 in the Gathering Room at Allen Family Funeral Options with Pastor Ricky Poe officiating.
