Ann Scruggs, mother, sister, and friend went home to our Lord October 15, 2011 after battling cancer. Surrounded by her loving family and friends, she was at peace with where she was going and comforted those she loved by saying, "It is, what it is."
Ann was born in San Angelo, Texas November 30, 1931 to Herman and Thelma Perry. She graduated from San Angelo High in 1950. She is survived by her sister, Linda K. Harless of Austin, Texas and her four children, John Haralson Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Melanie Fox of Lago Vista, Texas, Susan McCrackin of Garland, Texas and Linda Difiore of Plano, Texas, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many who loved her deeply.
Ann was very active in the church attending many Bible studies and small groups at Grace Community Church. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Crossroads and Interfaith ministries assisting many families in need. But her passion in life was her family and children. She was a kind and loving mother not only to her own children but to all children.

The burial and graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday October 20, 2011 at Hilltop Memorial Park at 1810 N. Perry Rd, Carrollton Texas. "It has been said that we each have a mission in life. If this is true, then mine was to be a mother. Of all the things I hold most dear in life, being a mother is first."
- Ann Scruggs
"I want you to always know that in good and bad times I will love you and that no matter what you do or how you think, or what you say , you can depend on my support, guidance, friendship and love every minute of every day. I love being your mother."
- Ann Scruggs
Mom's Prayer
Jesus, stand by me.
Teach me what I need to know.
Help me with my work.
Forgive me my sins.
Let me serve you and others that
I may be worthy of God's grace.
Amen.
Afterglow
I'd like the memory of me
To be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
Of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
Whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
And bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories
That I leave when life is done.
Psalm 121
. 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm
he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV
(As revised by Ann's family)
Ann is patient, Ann is kind. She does not envy, she does not boast, she is not proud. She does not dishonor others, she is not self-seeking, she is not easily angered, she keeps no record of wrongs. Ann does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. She always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Ann never fails.
