Cheryl Anita Anderson

September 1, 1958 — June 10, 2010

Cheryl "Cherrii"Anita Anderson was the second born daughter and youngest child of the Anderson Family. At only six weeks old, she traveled from her birthplace in Little Rock, Arkansas, to a new home in Kansas City, Missouri. She spent her childhood and most of her adult years in Kansas City. Cheryl's early years were spent at E.C. Meservey Elementary, Martin Luther King Middle and Westport High schools; then at William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art and later at Webster University in Kansas City where she earned her M.B.A. Cheryl's education continued with job related specialized training and she fulfilled a career of nearly 30 years at AT&T.

Cherrii enjoyed learning; she was well-rounded by many experiences that added much dimension to her life. In her youth, she excelled in cookie sales as a Girl Scout, studied dance and kept the family up late to attend recitals year after year. During her high school years, Cherrii participated in numerous activities and clubs, including Spanish, Chess, and R.O.T.C. Cherrii also possessed an amazing creative side which she expressed in various ways; as an artist, she drew and sketched from childhood. As a designer, she created pottery, needlework, jewelry, and photography. She also played the piano, violin, and flute, and was re-learning the guitar. Her deep love of music in general and guitars in particular led her to her latest venture as an apprentice luthier.

Cherrii had an immeasurable love for her family. Her parents Clarence and Mildred Anderson, brother and sister Michael and Marsha, niece JeLesa and nephews Robert, Michael, and Jonathan, and also Traci Waltermate, whom she regarded as a daughter, all adored her and she them, but the love of her life was her cherished daughter Cherika Eileen. Cherrii and Cherika were a special team and their own fabulous family - their closeness and love was a phenomenon to be admired.

Cherrii knew the Lord and had a personal relationship with Him. Christ was the light of her life and He shone brightly through her, in this life and forever more.

Cheryl's legacy is celebrated and continued by her beloved daughter Cherika Anderson. Joining her are Cheryl's mother, Mildred Anderson, brother Michael (wife Lisa and daughter Tiara) Anderson, sister Marsha Anderson Lowe, nephews Robert (wife Rose) Lowe, Michael Anderson, Jonathan Lowe, niece JeLesa Anderson, brother-in-law Robert Lowe, Beverly Anderson, the wilson, Duncan, Lewis, and Pryor families, Cathy and Kenneth Kranzow, Terry Humphries, Christian Brooks, D. Anson Brody, Violet and Hilary Alexander, Anita Byrd, Thia Taylor, and countless others.

The family will receive friends at Allen Family Funeral Options from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Cheryl will be going home to Missouri for her final services and resting place.
