Ina Helen Miller

Ina Helen Miller was born January 6, 1921, in Sand Coulee, Montana. Ina was the 4th of 5 children born to Adolph and Hulda Kukkola who immigrated to Montana from Finland at the turn of the century. She had two brothers, Eugene (Buck) and Adolph, and two sisters, Albi and Lillian. Ina attended Centerville High School and graduated in 1939. She was married twice in her life and was blessed with three children, Julie Anne Dumas, Jane Allyson Miller and William John Miller II.

Throughout Ina's life she loved cooking, a skill learned from her mother and mother-in-law, Margaret Miller. She loved reading the "Joy of Cooking" and learning the art of gourmet cooking. Among her many specialties was the family favorite lemon meringue pie, made so tart that it brought perspiration to your brow. She loved family gatherings at the holidays which gave her a chance to test her cooking skills creating meals so large that leftovers would last for days on end. Ina's granddaughter, Sara, has created a family cook book featuring many of Ina's favorite recipes such as Lobster Newburg and Beef Stroganoff.

While she loved her home state of Montana she lived the last years of her life in Florida with her daughter Jane and then Texas with her daughter Julie. Throughout her life she enjoyed music from the big band era and later in her life grew fond of country western singers. Always up for going shopping and whenever the occasion arose.

Ina is survived by her three children Julie, Jane and Bill, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service to celebrate Ina's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2011 at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas with Dr. Stanley Toussaint officiating. Ina will be laid to rest in Great Falls Montana.
